Meet Andrea Ruff
Born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia, I have always had a passion for creativity and the art of telling stories through images. In 2016, I followed my dream of becoming a professional photographer and graduated with a degree in Digital Photography from The Art Institute of Pittsburgh.
Photography has become so much more than a career for me—it is my art, my passion, and the way I connect with people. Throughout my journey, I have invested in numerous photography workshops and continued education, constantly refining my skills in lighting, posing, composition, and the art of creating flattering, powerful portraits.
One of the areas I became especially passionate about is lighting. I believe great lighting does more than illuminate a photograph—it can shape the body, create dimension, enhance movement, and completely transform the way a person looks and feels in front of the camera. Every woman is different, which is why I never believe in using the exact same lighting setup or posing techniques for every client. I carefully study each person's unique features, body, personality, and vision to create imagery that feels intentional and beautiful.
In 2020, I opened Andrea Ruff Studios because I wanted to create more than just a place to take photographs. I wanted to create an entire experience where my clients could walk in with an idea and watch that vision come to life.
A huge part of that experience is my luxury client closet, which has grown to more than 200 pieces, including designer-inspired gowns, rhinestone outfits, flowing fabrics, angel wings, accessories. I also have a huge collection of props, thrones, posing blocks, backdrops and studio pieces. Having such a diverse wardrobe and creative collection allows me to design sessions that are completely personalized rather than relying on the same looks and setups for every client.
Whether I'm photographing a woman celebrating motherhood, a milestone, a personal transformation, or simply herself, my goal is always the same: to create art that makes her feel beautiful, confident, powerful, and seen.
I don't want my clients to simply leave with beautiful digital images. I want them to have photographs that become heirlooms—pieces of art they can cherish for decades and eventually pass down through generations.
